Headbands are a type of hair accessory that is either used to hold hair back so it doesn’t get into the eyes and face, or as an accessory to enhance appearance. There are two basic types, rounded and oval shaped flower headbands, which are made from various materials.
For infants, flower headbands are typically made from a rubber or cloth material with the flowers glued on. Soft materials are normally used to avoid injuring the child. Older children can use plastic materials however they have a tenancy to break (which is great for the manufacturer but not for the parents that need to replace them). Adults flower headbands can be made of just about any material, including rubber, plastic, cloth, and metal. Metal flower headbands last longer but pose a risk of injury for young children.
While you can wear flower headbands during almost any situation, it’s very common to see them being worn during weddings and other church events (christening, baptisms, etc.).
You can either purchase them online or at various stores such as Wal-Mart. Making your own flower headbands is very easy. Going to stores such as Michaels is a great place to get cheap or inexpensive materials. At craft stores you can usually find the blank materials used to create your own beautiful headbands within minutes. Simply buy a blank headbands, fake flowers, and some glue.
